FAQ

Equipment & service questions

Common questions from craft roasteries evaluating drum roasters, sample lines, and RoastCraft support services. For catalogue pricing see Equipment; for service rates see Services.

Is RoastCraft a restaurant, café franchise, or food delivery service?

No. RoastCraft Inc. is a commercial specialty coffee roasting equipment supplier based in Vancouver. We sell and service drum roasters, sample roasters, green-coffee handling systems, and bench tools — we do not operate restaurants, offer franchise packages, sell prepared food, or deliver beverages. If you are looking for a café experience or meal delivery, we are not the right business. Our entire catalogue and support team focus on production roasting machinery for independent craft roasteries and cupping labs across Canada.

What batch sizes do your drum roasters support?

Sample lines cover 100 g to 500 g. Production drums span nominal 5 kg batches (RC-Drum 5) through 12–15 kg batches (RC-Drum 15). Spec sheets list charge-weight ranges, drum volume, and recommended hourly throughput for planning wholesale and retail production schedules.

Do you sell green coffee or roasted coffee?

Neither. RoastCraft supplies equipment and related services only. Green coffee sourcing and roasted product sales are outside our scope. Demo roasts at the Gastown showroom use sample greens for equipment evaluation — not for retail sale.

Can equipment ship outside British Columbia?

Yes. We coordinate crated freight for drum roasters and parcel or LTL shipping for sample units and bench tools to all provinces. Delivery timelines vary by line and destination; contact us with your postal code for a freight estimate.

What ventilation is required?

Gas-fired drums require engineered exhaust per local municipal codes. Spec sheets include estimated CFM, stack diameter, and afterburner notes. We recommend licensed ventilation contractors; RoastCraft does not perform duct fabrication but coordinates collar alignment during install.

Are electric sample roasters suitable for 240 V Canadian service?

RC-Sample electric lines specify 240 V single-phase requirements with breaker sizing on the spec sheet. Confirm available amperage with your electrician before ordering. Gas/propane sample variants include regulator and line-pressure specifications.

How do I request a spec sheet PDF?

Email [email protected] with the equipment line number or use the contact form with subject “Roaster enquiry” or “Sample roaster quote.” PDFs include CAD footprints, electrical and gas tables, and warranty terms.

What warranty coverage applies?

New catalogue equipment typically carries 12 months parts and labour on core mechanical and control components. Full terms appear on each spec sheet. Warranty claims require serial number and approximate roast hours. Post-warranty field service is available — see Services.

Do you offer roast-profile consulting?

Yes. Our roast-profile review service analyses charge temp, rate-of-rise, first-crack timing, and development ratio against your cupping targets. Pricing runs C$320 per single origin or C$780 for a three-origin set. This is equipment-focused profile optimisation, not formal Q-grader certification.

Can I visit the showroom without an appointment?

Walk-ins are welcome Mon–Fri 09:00–17:00 PT when demo bays are available. Extended sessions with live roasting and cupping require booking — submit “Roaster enquiry” via the contact form with preferred dates.

Do you install equipment outside the Lower Mainland?

Yes. Installation crews travel for production drum commissions; travel costs appear in install quotes. Remote communities may require additional lead time. Sample roaster installs are offered BC-wide with interprovincial options on request.

How is personal data handled when I contact you?

Contact form submissions are processed under PIPEDA as described in our Privacy policy. You must check the consent box before submitting. We do not sell contact information to third parties.
